The Canterbury Plains and Southern Alps surround Christchurch City, the gateway to the heart of New Zealand’s South Island. Visitors and residents alike enjoy the variety of this unique playground, which stretches from snow-capped mountains to the Pacific Ocean. The Terrace Downs Resort is located in Canterbury, a short 50-minute picturesque drive from Christchurch airport.
At Terrace Downs, Mother Nature herself provided the foundations for the perfect golf course. The resort's 550 acres of pristine High Country are set against the dramatic backdrop of the Southern Alps - creating a course that is as striking in beauty as it is challenging. This golf course has some of the most scintillating views of any in New Zealand.
Named New Zealand's Leading Golf Resort in 2010 by the World Travel Awards, the Terrace Downs Resort offers a choice of two deluxe accommodation options. Terrace Villa Suites are self-contained units with luxurious beds, a delightful raised spa bath and spacious open-plan living areas. There are 13 Villa Suites and 4 Chalets in the accommodation pool ranging from one to three bedroom suites.
The 18-hole, par 72, championship course features four different tee positions for the enjoyment of players of all abilities. Players will remember every hole, use every club in their bag and eagerly anticipate the next day's play. The golf course is complemented by a generous driving range and short-game area, and world-class services including a large fleet of electric golf carts, and high quality standard and executive hire shoes and clubs.
