PGA Tour to Solidify Pacific Links' Growing Presence in China and the Launch of its Newest Course, the 27 Club

LAS VEGAS (February 1, 2015) – Pacific Links International announced it will be moving its signature PGA Championship Tour event from Hawaii to China for 2015. The Pacific Links China Championship will coincide with the official grand opening of Pacific Links’ 27 Club in Tianjin. This will be the organization’s flagship course in Asia as it works towards building its presence in China and the goal of owning and operating eight to ten golf clubs in major metropolitan markets in the area.

“We are building an exclusive program that will allow people to experience high-end golf clubs across the globe,” said Mr. Du, Owner & Chairman of Pacific Links International. “There is no other membership like this in China and the launch of Pacific Links’ 27 Club is an exciting step in this next phase of progress.”

The 27 Club is among golf's most exciting projects, and certainly one of the most ambitious golf properties in Asia, with 27 golf champions each designing a hole that features their favorite course elements and reflects the unique character of each player’s individual game. Designers include: Greg Norman, Mark O'Meara, Tom Watson, Fred Couples, Annika Sorenstam and Vijay Singh with architects Beau Welling and Thomas McBroom managing the project. Like Augusta National or Merion in the U.S., The 27 Club will be a classic parkland golf experience with major elevation changes, deep lakes, dense trees and holes that exude character and drama.

For the past three years, The Pacific Links Hawai‘i Championship was successfully hosted at Kapolei golf club on O‘ahu and the 2015 move to China is a huge step towards the company’s goal of expanding its presence internationally. The Pacific Links China Championship will feature top Champions Tour professionals competing for a $2.5 million winner’s purse and Charles Schwab Cup points.

Pacific Links first launched its innovative membership plan in China just two years ago, and currently has more than three thousand members. Pacific Links offers its members access to some of the finest golf courses in the world, with a strong presence throughout North America, Asia and Australia. Members enjoy more variety, flexibility and a wider range of membership categories and prices than traditional golf memberships.

Pacific Links International members currently have access to a growing portfolio of more than 100 owned, affiliate and reciprocal golf clubs. Owned clubs are located in popular destinations such as Las Vegas, California and Hawaii. For more information, and a full list of courses, visit www.pacificlinks.com.
