Carya Golf Club
- Kadriye Region, Tasliburun Mevki
Recognized as one of the “Top 100” golf clubs in the world by numerous prestigious golf publications, Carya Golf Club is not only the first and only lighted golf course in Europe, but it is also one of the few golf clubs that plays host to 18-hole international championship tournaments in Turkey.
Designed by Peter Thomson, Carya Golf Club has an outstanding layout and is unique to the region. Although it is just a few hundred yards from the beach, the terrain is reminiscent of the classic world-class heathland courses near London. What also sets Carya Golf Club apart is its traditional and classic style. It’s one of the best pieces of land in the region, with a sand ridge that comes into play on numerous holes. Nearly one million heather sprigs were planted around Carya Golf Club, on the tops of bunkers and framing holes, giving the course its distinct appearance. The area is heavily forested and the holes run through corridors of trees. There are also spectacular individual pine and eucalyptus trees that became an integral part of the course strategy.
Carya Golf Club has been designed to be enjoyed by all golfers. The free flowing holes run between pine and eucalyptus trees and across a dramatic sand ridge. From the Championship tees, the 7,186 yard (6,570 meters), par 72 course is a demanding test of golfing strategy - while amateur golfers playing from the Regular tees (6,366 yards / 5,821 meters} will appreciate the generous fairways and enjoyable approaches.
Professionals as well as novices are welcome to play golf Carya Golf Club which also has a luxurious clubhouse, plus a state-of-the-art golf academy, driving range and short course.
Carya Golf Club was the host of Turkish Airlines European Golf Tournament 2016, 2017, 2018.
